Incumbent Judy Griffin Trails In Tight Assembly Race

The Democrat, seeking her third term in the Assembly, is down by 244 votes.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Judy Griffin is in a tight race to keep her 21st Assembly District seat. As the Nassau County Board of Election updates the figures, the incumbent Democrat is trailing by 244 votes.

Griffin, of Rockville Centre, who seeks a third term, had been trailing by a similar margin last week against Republican opponent Brian Curran, a one-time Assemblyman representing the 14th District.

Both candidates have kept a low profile since Election Day.

Griffin, while trailing on Thursday, tweeted a statement that included, "This race is still too close to call, which thankfully both sides recognize."

Curran made one acknowledgment of the close race on Facebook last week, saying in part:
