Lawmakers Raise Voice At Reproductive Rights Rally On Long Island

The protest comes following the draft decision leak of Supreme Court justices to overturn Roe. v. Wade.

MINEOLA, NY — Several lawmakers joined the We're Not Going Back rally on Saturday. The rally, organized by state Senator Anna Kaplan (D- Carle Place), comes Americans wait to see if Roe v. Wade will get overturned by the Supreme Court.

"We cannot allow the erosion of women's rights to happen on our watch," Nassau County Legislator Siela Bynoe (D-Westbury) said.

Senator Chuck Schumer and New York Attorney General Letitia James also spoke at the protest for reproductive rights in Mineola.

A leaked draft decision last week by the justices indicated they will likely overturn the landmark ruling soon. The six conservative justices are internally debating the future of Roe vs. Wade, according to the Washington Post.
