Library Budget Vote Set For Next Month; Household Increase Of $13

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Residents can decide on the Rockville Centre Library budget. The vote is May 17 at South Side High School.

The anticipated annual increase for each Rockville Centre household is $13 (or approximately $1.08 per month), the library posted on its website.

A final budget hearing is scheduled for May 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The library's tax levy is $3,819,670, up by $100,000 from the previous year. However, the 2022-2023 tax increase is under the New York State tax cap of 2.66 percent, the library said.

During the past year, the library started using a mobile printing app, Princh, allowing patrons to print from their personal devices. They also strengthened the Wi-Fi signal in the parking lot.
