Loaded 'Ghost Gun' Found On Traffic Stop: Police
The passenger faces multiple gun possession charges, while the driver is charged with unauthorized use of the vehicle, police said.
OCEANSIDE, NY — Two people were arrested early Wednesday after an investigation led to finding a "ghost gun" in their vehicle, police said.
Officers observed a 2008 BMW had a Georgia temporary registration heading northbound on Long Beach Road with a defective headlight, police said.
After an investigation of the car, a loaded unregistered "ghost gun" was recovered from the passenger, Avimael Linares, 29, of Jackson Heights, detectives said.

He was placed in custody and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.
The driver, Jennifer Tejada, 27, of Long Island City, was arrested for unauthorized use of the vehicle. The investigation revealed Tejada had multiple open warrants out in New York City, police said.

Linares and Tejada were expected to be arraigned on Thursday in Hempstead.
