Loaded Gun Found During Traffic Stop In Nassau: Police

The incident happened at 11 p.m. Wednesday on Grand Avenue, police said.

BALDWIN, NY — Four men were arrested Wednesday night during a traffic stop in Baldwin.

Officers observed the vehicle speeding on Grand Avenue just before 11 p.m. During an investigation, police recovered a loaded Glock 19 9mm handgun and multiple bottles containing a liquid drug that is believed to be promethazine, police said.

Malachi Sweatte, 18, of Freeport, faces charges that include criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a firearm. He was expected to be arraigned on Thursday.

The other men, all 18 years old, were released on appearance tickets.
