Local Pizzeria Plans Boosters Amid Skyrocketing COVID-19

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — With the dramatic increase in COVID-19 in New York, and specifically on Long Island, health officials and politicians encourage everyone to make sure they are fully vaccinated.

To combat the highly contagious omicron variant, getting boosted is a critical next step for protection, they say.

Mount Sinai South Nassau is scheduling a special "Vaxmobile" event, doing its part, at Bonbino's Pizza in Rockville Centre.

Owner Nick Milano said he arranged for the additional shots to keep his employees and customers safe.

Workers at the pizzeria were expected to get their booster shots on Monday afternoon.

There is also a Bonbino's Pizza in Oceanside.
