Labor Day Travel 2023: How To Avoid Peak Travel Times
AAA Northeast estimates more than 85 percent of its members will travel between 50-200 miles for Labor Day weekend.
GARDEN CITY, NY — It's the time of the year when everyone, seemingly, hits the road to wrap up the summer.
Labor Day weekend means plenty of company for drivers.
AAA Northeast says the busiest time will be Thursday, Aug. 31 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 is also expected to see heavier than normal traffic from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Helping with the holiday exodus, AAA says, Long Islanders are seeing gas prices, on average, at $3.84 per gallon, down from a year ago.
A survey of AAA Northeast members indicates more than 85 percent will drive to their Labor Day destination. The majority of motorists will travel between 50-200 miles.
