Man Arrested After Being Seen Stealing Electronics: RVC Police

These are the incidents that the Rockville Centre Police Department reported for the week ending April 8.

Larceny

On April 2 at 1:30 p.m., a customer at a storage facility on Sunrise Highway reported items were missing from his unit.

On April 5 at 12:42 a.m., a customer at a convenience store on N. Village Avenue reported he lost his wallet inside the store earlier in the evening. He later discovered his credit cards were used in Queens.

On April 2 at 8:13 p.m., a driver reported his vehicle was struck by a car that left the scene while it was parked on Cedar Avenue.

Criminal Mischief

On April 5 at 11:02 p.m., a store owner on N. Village Avenue reported his front window was broken.

On April 6 at 6:30 p.m., a driver reported her car door was damaged while it was parked in a lot on N. Village Avenue.

Arrests

On April 1 at 11:45 p.m., Derrick Pettway, 29, of N. Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with petty larceny after police say he was seen stealing electronic items from a store on N. Village Avenue.

On April 2 at 1:44 p.m., Laquan Richardson, 26, of Old Mill Court, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and four traffic violations after police say he was observed driving on N. Centre Avenue.

On April 6 at 8:43 a.m., Dewayne Figgs, 35, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, driving with suspended registration and two traffic violations after he was observed driving on Sunrise Highway.

On April 6 at 12:53 p.m., Bryan Toney, 41, of Hicksville, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree, Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration and traffic infractions after he was observed driving on Sunrise Highway.

On April 6 at 7:73 p.m., Leonard Gonzalez, 29, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with third-degree menacing after an investigation on S. Park Avenue.
