On Aug. 20 at 9:07 a.m., a driver reported her car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while she was driving on Merrick Road.
On Aug. 22 at 6:19 p.m., a driver reported her car was struck by a vehicle that passed her and then left the scene while she was driving on Hempstead Avenue.

Burglary
On Aug. 25 at 2:56 p.m., a Hawthorne Avenue resident reported someone entered his home through an unlocked window during the afternoon and stole jewelry.
Arrest
On Aug. 24 at 7:06 p.m., Robert A. Cochero, 32, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with DWI after he was involved in an auto accident on Sunrise Highway, police said. No injuries were reported.
