Man Twice Robs Bank Literally Across The Street From His House: Police

The robberies occurred over an eight day span in February, police say.

OCEANSIDE, NY - There’s a clear view from Melvin Olivo’s Oceanside home to the TD Bank on the corner of Long Beach Road and Foxhurst Road.

They are right across the street from each other.

And Nassau Police say Olivo, of 29 Foxhurst Road, robbed that bank twice in the course of eight days last month.

Olivo, 34, was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of robbery.

According to police, Olivo entered the bank on Friday, Feb. 19 around 3:11 p.m. He approached the teller and produced a note demanding money.

Olivo robbed the bank in a similar manner again on Saturday, Feb. 27 at about 12:15 p.m., police say.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

Olivo was due to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
