Man Assaults Officer At Station House In Baldwin: Nassau Police

Kenneth Lewis was in the process of being booked for a domestic incident when he got combative with officers Sunday morning, police said.

BALDWIN, NY — A Nassau County police officer was assaulted Sunday in Baldwin, detectives said.

Kenneth Lewis, 36, of Hempstead, was at the 1st Precinct being booked on a domestic incident Sunday morning when a physical struggle ensued, police said.

One officer suffered injuries to his left wrist and was brought to an area hospital for treatment.

Lewis is expected to be arraigned Monday in Hempstead on charges that include second-degree assault and second-degree criminal contempt, detectives said.
