Man Breaks Into Lakeview Gas Station, Injures Employee: Police

The man became agitated when the employee told him the gas station was closed, police say.

LAKEVIEW, NY — An Oceanside man was arrested after Nassau police said he burglarized a Lakeview gas station early Monday.

John Masone, 55, approached the front entrance of an Exxon Gas Station, at 820 Hempstead Avenue, around 2:40 a.m. and tried to get in, police said.

A 51-year-old man working the gas station told him the building was closed, police said. Masone became "agitated," police said, broke the front door and entered. Masone and the employee got into a fight, and the employee suffered minor injuries, police said.
