Man Broke Into Nassau County Home, Stole Scotch: Police

The 35-year-old was arrested after being found in the backyard of the home Monday morning, police say.

WOODMERE, NY - A 35-year-old man was arrested Monday morning after he broke into a Woodmere home and stole two bottles of scotch, Nassau Police said.

According to police, Guoguang Lin, who has no known address, entered a residence on West Broadway through an unlocked rear window around 7:27 p.m.

A witness, who observed Lin inside the unoccupied home, notified the police, police said.

Fourth Precinct police officers located Lin in the backyard of the home, where he was placed under arrest, police said.

It is unknown if any other proceeds, besides the two bottles of scotch, were stolen from the home, police said.

Lin is charged with second degree burglary and will be arraigned on Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
