Man Crashed Into Car While Drunk With Son In Vehicle In Lakeview: PD

The man crashed into a parked car, causing his BMW to overturn, police say. His son, 7, was injured and taken to the hospital, police say.

LAKEVIEW, NY — A man was arrested after he drove while drunk and crashed with his son in the car on Monday in Lakeview, Nassau police said.

David Isaacs, 37, of West Hempstead, was driving a 2017 BMW eastbound on Eagle Avenue when he struck a parked 2013 Honda Pilot, causing the BMW to overturn around 3:50 p.m., police said. Isaacs and his 7-year-old son freed themselves from the BMW before officers arrived, police said.

Isaacs was arrested without incident, while his son was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries, police said. The boy was released into the custody of a family member. No other injuries were reported, police said. The BMW was impounded.

Isaacs was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI: Leandra’s Law, and endangering the welfare of a child.

His arraignment was scheduled for Tuesday at First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
