Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. ELMONT, NY — A Valley Stream man was arrested after a robbery that occurred on Tuesday night in Elmont, police said. Nassau County police said that at 8:01 p.m., a 59-year-old man was in front of the Elmont Deli and Convenience on Linden Boulevard when an unknown man began to argue with him. The unknown man kicked the 59-year-old man, dragged him on the concrete, and removed his cell phone from the ground before fleeing eastbound on Linden Boulevard, police said. A NCPD Medic evaluated and treated the 59-year-old man, who did not want to be transported to a local hospital, police said. Upon investigation, officers arrested 45-year-old Jason Gayle, and he was charged with third-degree robbery, police said. He will be arraigned on June 9 at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
