Man Robbed Baldwin Sunoco, Stealing Beer: Police

The man threatened the cashier by pretending he had a weapon in his pocket, police say.

BALDWIN, NY — A man was arrested and charged with robbery after he stole beer from a Sunoco in Baldwin early Friday, Nassau police said.

Niheim Levy, 44, who is homeless, walked into a Sunoco Gas Station, at 1738 Grand Avenue, around 12:20 a.m., police said. He grabbed a pack of beer and left without paying, police said. Levy returned shortly after and grabbed another pack of beer before fleeing, police said.

Both times as he fled the store, he made threatening gestures towards the 59-year-old male employee by placing his hands in his jacket, inferring that he had a weapon if the cashier tried to stop him, police said.
