Man Robbed at Knifepoint Inside Rockville Centre Hotel
The robber, a Rockville Centre man, stole boots and money, police say.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY- A Rockville Centre man is accused of a robbing a man at knifepoint inside a Rockville Centre hotel Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, a 27-year-old man was at the Ramada Inn located at 1000 Sunrise Highway when 24-year-old Steven Barrere approached him and asked for help at about 12:11 p.m.
Barrere, of 309 Morris Avenue, led the man to a second floor hallway in the hotel where, armed with a knife, he demanded the victim remove his boots and clothing.

Barrere took the boots and an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim, police said. The victim was not injured.
Fourth Precinct officers responding to a 911 call located Barrere and placed him under arrest at the scene, police said.

Barrere is charged with first degree robbery, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, first degree unlawful imprisonment and second degree menacing. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
