Man Robs Nassau County Bank

BREAKING: The robber threatened the use of a firearm, but no weapon was displayed Friday afternoon, police say.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – Police are looking for a man who robbed a Nassau County bank Friday afternoon.

According to Nassau Police, the man entered the Capital One bank located at 77 Lincoln Ave. in Rockville Centre at about 12:53 p.m. He approached a 22-year-old female teller and demanded money. He threatened the use of a firearm, but no weapon was displayed, police said.

The teller complied and the man fled on foot eastbound into the rear parking lot with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

There were six employees and three customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery. There were no reported injuries.

The robber was described as black, 45-50 years old, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10 and about 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored hat, green long sleeve shirt, green pants, round-framed eyeglasses with thick clear lenses, a dark colored scarf around his neck and dark shoes.

Police are anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
