Man Stole More Than $6,000 in Merchandise From CVS: Police

The 54-year-old was arrested on Saturday.

A 54-year-old Hempstead man arrested on Saturday is accused of stealing more than $6,000 in merchandise from Nassau County CVS stores.

According to Nassau Police, Jeffrey A. Greene was observed by store security attempting to the leave CVS located at 155 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre on Saturday afternoon with a bag of assorted merchandise worth over $1,200 that he had not paid for.

Rockville Centre Police arrived and placed Greene under arrest without incident, police said.

An investigation revealed that Greene was the suspect in four other larcenies from CVS stores located in Freeport and Rockville Centre, where a combined amount of more than $6,000 dollars of assorted merchandise was stolen since September 2015, police said.

Greene is charged with four counts of fourth degree grand larceny and two counts of petty larceny. He was due to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
