A man attempted to rob bank in Franklin Square on Wednesday afternoon. According to police, the man entered the TD Bank located at 690 Hempstead Turnpike shortly after 3 p.m., approached a teller and verbally demanded money. He left the bank empty-handed, though, and fled with the scene on foot with no proceeds northbound on Carl Avenue, police said. The man was wearing tan pants, an overcoat, a Christmas hat with a visor and a scarf partially covering his face, police said. There were nine employees and three customers in the bank at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported. Police are asking anyone with information about this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.

The attempted robbery occurred Wednesday afternoon, police said.
