Meet The Patch Adopt-A-Pet Of The Week

WANTAGH, NY — There are dozens of cats and dogs available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. Here's our Patch Adopt-a-Cat of-Week.

ChaChaSlide is a one-year female domestic shorthair feline who came to the shelter in November along with her brother Sushee.

ChaChaSlide is a bit apprehensive at first, taking "a few minutes to warm up to new people," the animal shelter wrote in the cat's description.

She is playful and motivated by treats, but does not like to be picked up.

ChaChaSlide needs a forever home with a family that will "give her the time she needs to come out of her shell," the shelter writes.

The shelter is open seven days a week with adoption hours each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's located at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh.
