Molloy Student Anthony Pedraita Wins First Round of College Wing Eating Championships
Pedraita will face the previous champion and winners from Old Westbury and the New York Institute of Technology next week.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY - Anthony Pedraita, a student at Molloy College, was declared the winner of the first round of the College Wing Eating Championships which took place on Friday.
Pedraita will now have to face the previous Molloy Champ, Tom Malinowski, as well as winners from Suny College at Old Westbury and the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) at the College Wing Eating Championship Finals next week at the NY Best Wings Festival.
The second round of the competition, which is part of the 6th Annual BBQ Throw Down, is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3 starting at 2:30 p.m. at Suny College at Old Westbury.

The third round is scheduled for Thursday, May 5 at the New York Institute of Technology.
The student to eat 12 Buffalo Wings from Wing Zone the fastest, will be declared the winner and represent their school and community at the main event.

Four or more participants from academic groups, sports teams, clubs and even faculty, staff and administrators compete in several rounds to determine who could eat their wings in the fastest time for the chance to represent their school in the Championship at the New York Best Wings Festival.
The winner from each heat who finishes fastest advances to the final round.
The person who finishes first in the final round will advance to represent their school at The College Wing Eating Championship at the New York Best Wings Festival later this year.
The winner of the final round will also receive a $100 gift certificate to Wing Zone, a special VIP ticket to the NY Best Wings Festival, a first-place trophy and more.
