Long Island Mom, Too Far Along, Delivers Baby At Home With Police Help

A pregnant woman didn't have time to get to the hospital for her delivery. Police and medics helped her deliver the baby at home.

BALDWIN, NY — A pregnant woman from Baldwin was too far along in labor to get to the hospital on Sunday night. Officers determined that with the birth imminent, and with the help of police medics, they delivered a healthy baby girl at 8:15 p.m.

The mother and the newborn were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
