Motorcyclist Critically Hurt in Rockville Centre Crash

The accident occurred Friday night, police say.

A 31-year-old man is in critical condition after his motorcycle collided with a car in Rockville Centre Friday night, police said.

According to police, the man was riding a Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Peninsula Boulevard when he crashed into a 2003 Toyota Camry, which was turning into the southbound entrance of Mercy Medical Center at 10:44 p.m.

The motorcyclist suffered serious trauma to his head and torso. The driver of the Toyota, a 68-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and is listed in stable condition at the hospital. Police did not identify either person.

No criminal charges will be filed in the crash. Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety inspections.
