Muggers Flee After Man Won't Give Them His Money

The would-be muggers actually took "no" for an answer when they tried to rob a man in front of his house.

A man from Baldwin was nearly mugged in front of his home Tuesday night, but the muggers actually took "no" for an answer.

According to police, the 57-year-old man got out of his home in front of his home on Thomas Avenue at 11:40 p.m. when he was approached by three unknown men. One of the muggers demanded money from the man and another pulled out a handgun and also demanded money. The man refused to give them money, and all three attempted muggers fled on foot toward Central Avenue.

Two of the muggers are described as white Hispanic men, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with thin builds, each 17 to 22 years old, wearing all black clothing and a black mask. The third man, who had the gun, was also a white Hispanic man, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with a thin build, also 17 to 22 years old, wearing all black clothing with blue jeans and a black mask.
