The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Aug. 26.

Leaving the Scene of an Auto Accident

  • On Aug. 22 at 6:58 p.m., a driver reported his car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while it was parked in the lot of a medical building on N. Village Avenue.

  • On Aug. 19 at 3:09 p.m., a homeowner on Demott Avenue reported the theft of eyeglasses and perfume from her car while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
  • On Aug. 21 at 2:50 p.m., a homeowner on Bradford Court reported someone entered his car and removed his garage door opener while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
  • On Aug. 21 at 4:15 p.m., a homeowner on Jackson Avenue reported the theft of cash from his car while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
  • On Aug. 21 at 4:41 p.m., a homeowner on Andover Road reported the theft of cash and credit cards from his car while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
  • On Aug. 21 at 5:01 p.m., a homeowner on Hamilton Street reported the theft of sunglasses and phone accessories from his car while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
  • On Aug. 21 at 7:15 p.m., a homeowner on Raymond Street reported the theft of coins and a cell phone charger from his car while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
  • On Aug. 23 at 4:16 p.m., a homeowner on Hendrickson Avenue reported the theft of motorcycle equipment from a vehicle parked in his driveway.

Criminal Mischief

  • On Aug. 25 at 11:07 p.m., the manager of a pharmacy store on N. Village Avenue reported a front glass window was broken.

  • On Aug. 23 at 7:01 a.m., an office manager on Clinton Avenue reported the theft of money and video equipment.

Arrests

  • On Aug. 22 at 6:04 a.m., Wilmmer Tejada, 27, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after police say he was observed driving on S. Centre Avenue.
  • On Aug. 23 at 6:50 a.m., Kevin Meyer, 30, of East Rockaway, was arrested and charged with attempted petty larceny during an investigation on Front Street.
