The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending June 17.

Leaving the Scene of an Auto Accident

  • On June 11 at 3:03 p.m., a driver reported his car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while it was parked on Quealy Place.
  • On June 12 at 9:47 p.m., a driver reported his car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while it was parked on Lakeview Avenue.
  • On June 14 at 6:51 p.m., a driver said his car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while he was driving on S. Park Avenue. No injuries reported.
  • On June 14 at 3:43 p.m., a driver reported her vehicle was struck by a car that left the scene while it was parked in a lot on Merrick Road.
  • On June 16 at 8:43 p.m., a driver said his vehicle was struck by a car that left the scene while he was driving on S. Centre Avenue. No one was injured.

  • On June 13 at 4:10 p.m., the manager at a pharmacy on Sunrise Highway reported a man was seen shoplifting allergy medicines.
  • On June 14 at 2:09 p.m., a driver reported an iPad was stolen from her car while it was parked in a lot on S. Park Avenue.

Arrests

  • On June 13 at 4:20 p.m., Harvey Sherrod, 60, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and third-degree unlicensed operation after police say hew as seen driving on Sunrise Highway.
  • On June 14 at 11:06 a.m., Darvens Toussaint, 25, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, third-degree grand larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and traffic offenses during an investigation on Woods Avenue.
