Nassau County To Get New 363 Area Code Next Year: Report

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — With the new year, a new area code is on the way for Nassau County. The 363 area code will be offered starting Jan. 20, Newsday reports.

The newest area code for Long Island became necessary as the 10-digit numbers starting with 516 were close to running out, the article said.

All 516 permutations are expected to dry up in the first quarter of 2024, giving time for 363 to arrive as phone numbers.

Existing 516 numbers will remain, but those seeking new numbers or additional lines could face the prospect of starting with 363.
