Nassau Man Arrested With Tons Of Edible Marijuana: Police

He was pulled over after police say he was doing 120 on the Southern State. He was charged with more than 30 counts of drug possession.

An Elmont man was arrested Tuesday night after state police say he was pulled over for speeding and found to have tons of edible marijuana in his car.

Police say that, while on a routine patrol of the Southern State Parkway around 10:40 p.m., troopers saw a car driving recklessly and going as fast as 120 miles per hour. Troopers pulled over the car, which was being driven by Antonio A. Rizo, 42, of News Avenue, Elmont.

Police say that, after the stop, the trooper had probable cause to search the car. Police say that Rizo had edible marijuana in the form of cookies, cereal treats and brownies, and also small amounts of marijuana.

Rizo was charged with 31 counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
