Nassau Man Charged For Brutal 2019 Assault: Police

Nassau County Police said they arrested a Hempstead man on Monday for a brutal assault that occurred in Lakeview last year.

According to police, at 7:07 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2019, a 34-year-old man was standing outside of a car having a conversation with a man and woman inside the car when he was approached from behind and struck in the head. The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment for a fractured skull and brain trauma.

On Monday, police arrested Anthony Brown, 31, of Lawson Street, Hempstead, in connection with the assault.

Brown is charged with first-degree assault. He was arraigned on Monday and ordered held on $250,000 cash bail.
