Nassau Man Charged In Series Of Larcenies: Police
BREAKING: Police say they caught him returning to the scene of a crime, which led to the discovery of other thefts he had committed.

A Baldwin man was arrested early Friday morning and charged with breaking into and robbing two different cars in Nassau County, as well as other larcenies.
According to police, a 40-year-old man parked his 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe on Baldwin Avenue in Baldwin. When he returned at 12:30 a.m. Friday morning, he noticed that the car was ransacked and that his laptop computer, headphones and backpack were stolen.
Police officers arrived and an officer saw a man approaching the same car. Police say that when the officers approached, the man, David Webster, 25, of Oakmere Drive, Baldwin, fled. After a brief chase, Webster was caught and placed under arrest. After he consented to a search, police say they found the stolen items in his bedroom.

Police say that, after further investigating, they determined that Webster had also broken into a car parked on Oakmere Drive in Oceanside on June 24. In that larceny, police say, Webster stole a pocketbook containing personal papers and $150 in gift cards. The pocketbook was recovered, but not the gift cards.
In addition, police say that, on June 4, Webster also stole a wallet from a 33-year-old woman on Long Beach Road in Oceanside.

Webster is charged with three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and petty larceny. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
