Nassau Man Drove Drunk With Child In The Car: Police
Police say he was swerving in and out of his lane while driving early Sunday morning.

A Lawrence man was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with driving drunk with children in his car, Nassau police say.
According to police, Carlos Ruiz-Mendoza, 42, of Spring Street,w as driving a 2003 Acura north on Lawson Boulevard in Oceanside around 2:45 a.m. Police say Ruiz-Mendoza kept swerving out of his lane, and officers pulled him over. Police say that Ruiz-Mendoza was driving drunk with a woman in the passenger seat and a 13-year-old boy in the back seat. Both passengers were released to the custody of a relative.
Ruiz-Mendoza was charged with aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law, endangering the welfare of a child, DWI and numerous vehicle and traffic law violations. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
