BALDWIN, NY — A Baldwin man was arrested early Thursday morning after Nassau County police say he stole a car, kidnapped a woman and led officers on a chase.

According to police, Mohammed Negadi, 29, of Jefferson Place, was in the car with two women he knew when they got into an argument just before 2 a.m. Police say the woman driving stopped the car and all three got out and started to struggle over a phone. The other woman, 47, called 911 to report her car being stolen.

Police say Negadi fled the scene. Police tried to pull him over, but he refused to stop, even while the woman was screaming for help through an open window in the car, police said. While he was fleeing, police say Negadi continuously threatened to kill the woman in the car.
