Teen Arrested After He Set Up Drug Sale On Craigslist: Police

Police say the teen was arrested as soon as he got to the place he planned to make his sale.

Two Brooklyn men were arrested in Baldwin on Sunday night after police say one of them tried to set up a drug sale online.

According to Long Island Heroin Task Force detectives, Jalen Robinson, 16, of Marcy Avenue, put an ad on Craigslist to sell heroin. Police say he found a buyer and agreed to meet him in Baldwin for the sale. When Robinson arrived at the location at 5:56 p.m., police say they placed him under arrest. He had 40 envelopes of heroin on him at his arrest, police said.

Kamel Wells, 23, of Nostrand Avenue, was later arrested for arranging transportation for Robinson to get to Baldwin.

Robinson was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree sale of a controlled substance. Wells was charged with fourth-degree criminal facilitation. Both were arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.
