Nassau Police Searching For Cash-Grabbing Robber

Police say the man robbed a gas station by opening the register and grabbing cash.

Nassau County police are searching for a man who grabbed cash at a Baldwin gas station Friday night and fled.

According to police, the robber entered the BP gas station at 969 Atlantic Ave. just after 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 2. He demanded the 33-year-old man behind the counter open the cash register, but the employee refused. Then the man began hitting buttons on the register until it opened. Once it was opened, he grab cash and fled on foot westbound.

The robber was wearing dark clothes and had a dark-colored bandanna covering his face.

Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
