Nassau Woman Dies In Early Morning Car Crash

BREAKING: The woman lost control of her car and drove into a box truck heading the opposite direction.

A Rockville Centre woman was killed in a car crash in Baldwin early Friday morning.

According to police, Chelsi Perez, 27, was driving a 2005 Hyundai westbound on Merrick Road at 1:45 a.m. when she lost control of the car and collided with a box truck travelling eastbound, near Gale Avenue.

The driver of the truck, a 69-year-old man, was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene for brake and safety checks. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
