Nassau Officers Assaulted Trying To Disperse Rowdy Crowd: PD
Nassau police arrested 10 people, many from the same family, after they became rowdy and attacked officers, police said.
BALDWIN, NY — Four officers were injured and 10 people were arrested after a group turned violent and attacked police officers who were trying to make them disperse, Nassau County police said.
According to police, officers responded to a call for a large disturbance near Dean Drive and Shell Street in Baldwin at 9:50 p.m. Sunday night. When they arrived, police said they found about 20 people in the street playing loud music and smashing bottles.
As officers tried to calm the crowd and make them disperse, police said the group became violent and started throwing bottles at the officers. As the officers tried to arrest some of the group, police said they became more violent and began to punch the officers.

Four officers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. Police arrested 10 people:
- Furnie Oden III, 63, of Dean Drive, Baldwin, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
- Furnie Oden IV, 39, of Dean Drive, Baldwin, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
- Furnie Oden V, 18, of Dean Drive, Baldwin, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
- Jaquan Oden, 26, of Dean Drive, Baldwin, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, first-degree riot and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
- Kiyon Oden, 21, of Dean Drive, Baldwin, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, first-degree riot and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
- Quinteze Tyriek Howell, 22, of Stanley Avenue, Brooklyn, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
- Dasaun Damian Young, 24, of Ridge Street, Binghamton, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
- Danny Ashley, 20, of Dean Drive, Baldwin, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
- Alfredo Delsol Lyde, 20, of Windsor Parkway, Hempstead, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
- Jahnay Drumgoal, 31, of Wellington Street, Hempstead, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree riot and disorderly conduct.
All 10 are scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
