Paving Project Reducing Flooding Concerns To Wrap Up Next Week
The Long Beach drainage work is focused on National Boulevard and West Park Avenue.

LONG BEACH, NY — Paving work in Long Beach continues to reduce flooding and improve roads.
The drainage project on National Boulevard and West Park Avenue is nearing completion.
Paving on Friday will take place on National Boulevard from the south side of Broadway to Penn Street. Park Avenue is an alternate route, but parking should be avoided in the area, the city said on its website.

More work is scheduled for after the holiday weekend.
Construction on West Park Avenue from New York Avenue to Nevada Avenue is expected to run Tuesday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use West Beech Street as an alternate.

Resurfacing the entire length is scheduled for 9 p.m. on June 2 and should be completed by 6 a.m. the next morning. West Park Avenue from New York to Nevada will be entirely closed during that time.
Vehicles must be removed from Park Avenue or face a ticket and tow.
