PHOTOS: SSMS Students Perform In 'Broadway My Street'

Youngsters perform classic tunes from famous broadway plays.

Classic Broadway tunes from the 1930s, 50s and 60s could be heard from the auditorium of South Side Middle School, as  parents and faculty watched as students belted out notes during the school's production of "Broadway My Street."

For the past six weeks prior to the performance, Director Jon Brodsky had the students learning about the golden days of theatre, rehearsing songs from plays like, "Anything Goes," "The Music Man," "Hello Dolly,"  and "Oliver!"

Each set was put on right after another, showing just how versatile the young actors and actresses could be under the pressure of performing. Smiles were seen on the faces of the grandparents in the crowd who grew up enjoying these songs first hand, only to see them 30 and 40 years later sung by their loved ones.
