Police: Assaults, Graffiti and More in Rockville Centre Last Week

The Rockville Centre Police Department has released the crime report for the week of Aug. 1. Here's what happened in town.
Arrests
On Aug. 3 at 9:02 a.m., Dwayne O. Drummonds, 26, of Austin Boulevard, Island Park was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police in the vicinity of N. Village Avenue and Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 4 at 11:11 a.m., Tony Zarate, 46, of Long Beach Road, Island Park, was arrested and charged with third degreeaggravated unlicensed operation, false personation, and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police in the vicinity of DeMott Avenue and N. Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 4 at 11:25 p.m., Luis A. Nunez, 35, of Harrison Avenue, Freeport, was arrested and charged with second degree assault and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

On Aug. 5 at 10:48 a.m., Michael S. Dietrich, 39, of W. Third Street, Deer Park, was arrested and charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, open warrants for first and second degree criminal contempt and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 5 at 3:45 p.m., Angela Thompson, 61, of Merrick Road, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with petit larceny following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of CVS Pharmacy, 598 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
Assaults
On Aug. 1 at 1:30 p.m., two complainants from Garden City reported that on July 30 at approximately 3 a.m., they were assaulted by group that included someone they knew while in the vicinity of 294 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre, resulting in minor injuries.
On Aug. 4 at 11:30 p.m., a man from Fortesque Avenue, Oceanside reported that he was assaulted by three unknown men while at Stinger’s Bar, 300 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 7 at 1:18 a.m., a woman from Griddle Lane, Levittown reported that she was assaulted by someone she knew from Yale Place, Glen Cove while at Cannon’s Blackthorn Bar, 49 N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre.
Larceny
On Aug. 1 at 5:45 p.m., a man from Argyle Place, Rockville Centre reported that two people stole his 2005 Chrysler car from Municipal Parking Field No. 2 in Rockville Centre; the stolen vehicle was last seen eastbound on Lakeview Avenue,
On Aug. 2 at 3:29 p.m., a man from Loft Avenue, Baldwin reported that someone stole a black Trek mountain bicycle from the vicinity of Merrick Road and N. Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 6 at 12:11 a.m., a woman from Flatlands Avenue, Brooklyn reported that sometime since Aug. 5 at 10 p.m., someone stole a pocketbook containing credit cards from the back of a chair at Cabo Restaurant, 3A N. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 6 at 12:11 a.m., a woman from Schoen Street, Baldwin reported that sometime since Aug. 5 at 11:30 p.m., someone stole a leather bag containing credit cards from a chair at Cabo Restaurant, 3A N. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre.
On Aug. 5 at 11:33 a.m., a person from Chestnut Street, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole $1,000, cell phone chargers and a Denver Nuggets jersey from their home.
Forgery
On Aug. 4 at 5:35 p.m., a person from Banks Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that sometime since July 28, somone,altered and cashed a Citibank check for $847.05.
On Aug. 5 at 7:15 p.m., a person from Lincoln Court, Rockville Centre reported that an someone attempted to cash an altered check at a Citibank in Islip.
Property Damage
On Aug. 6 at 12:33 a.m., a person from Floral Parkway, Floral Park reported that the windshield to a 2008 Chevrolet was damaged while parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 19 in Rockville Centre.
Graffiti
On Aug. 4 at noon, police located graffiti on the sidewalks in front of 1 N. Park Ave. and 284 Merrick Road.
Harassment
On Aug. 4 at 4:50 p.m., a person from Liberty Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone sent more than 40 text messages from multiple phone numbers, causing annoyance and alarm.
