Police: Baldwin Man Drove Drunk on Meadowbrook With 3-Year-Old Daughter in Car

He faces a felony DWI charge after being pulled over for speeding Saturday night, police say.

A 42-year-old Baldwin man faces a felony DWI charge after he drove drunk on the Meadowbrook State Parkway Saturday night with his 3-year-old daughter in his car, police said.

According to State Police, a trooper stopped a 2003 BMW X5 for speeding on the northbound Meadowbrook near Exit M5 in East Meadow at 9 p.m.

While interviewing the driver, Rafael D. Ramon, the trooper detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage, police said.

Ramon failed sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of .12 based on a breathalyzer, police said.

Ramon’s daughter was one of the three passengers in the car, police said.

Romon was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI–a felony under Leandra’s Law. He also faces a traffic violation for speeding, police said.

Romon was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday. He was released on $500 bail.
