Police: Drunken Motorcyclist Flees Police at 90 MPH, Hits Parked Car
Wantagh man faces several charges following incident Sunday afternoon.

Police say a Wantagh man was drunk when he fled police at 90 mph on a motorcycle Sunday afternoon before he crashed into a parked car.
According to State Police, a trooper attempted to stop a motorcyclist for speeding on the northbound Wantagh State Parkway, south of Merrick Road, at 4:47 p.m.
The motorcyclist, 48-year-old Dennis Vogel, exited Wantagh Parkway onto eastbound Merrick Road, police said. The trooper also continued eastbound on Merrick Road near the Nassau County Police Department’s 7th Precinct in Seaford when a Nassau County Police officer alerted the trooper to the erratic motorcycle, police said.

The trooper was able to locate the motorcycle south of Merrick Road on Roanoke Street and shortly after the motorcycle struck a parked vehicle, police said.
Vogel was arrested and charged with felony DWI, felony unlicensed operation, third degree unlawful fleeing a police officer and several traffic violations.

Vogel was being held for arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.
