Police: Man Victim of Set-Up Robbery in Lynbrook

The 19-year-old went to meet a new female acquaintance when the woman and two men robbed him outside a Lynbrook home Saturday night.

Police are searching for three people who robbed a man in an apparent set-up robbery in Lynbrook late Saturday night.

According to police, a 19-year-old man parked his Jeep on Lawrence Avenue to meet a new female acquaintance shortly before midnight. The 19-year-old woman he was meeting directed him to the front door of a home and then redirected him to the driveway, police said.

Suddenly, an unknown man appeared from behind a bush and pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at the victim. The armed man ordered the victim to the corner of the house and onto the ground.

The victim complied and at that time another unknown man approached the victim, police said. That man removed the victim’s car keys from his pocket, his cellphone from his hand and demanded the victim’s designer belt.

All three robbers fled the scene in the victim’s black 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The victim ran to River Mill Tavern to call police. No injuries were reported.

Proceeds from the robbery included the Jeep, a gold colored iPhone, a pair of orange and brown trimmed Balenciaga sneakers and a designer belt with a large gold colored letter ‘M’ belt buckle.

Police released the following descriptions of the robbers:

Subject #1 - 19, heavy set black female, wearing pink shorts and a black colored hoodie style shirt.

Subject #2 – 20, tall thin black male, armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun wearing dark colored shorts and a white colored hoodie style shirt

Subject #3 – 20, tall thin black male, wearing dark colored shorts and a dark colored hoodie style shirt.
