Preemie Triplets Go Home After More Than Month In Hospital
It was the fourth time the Mercy Hospital's obstetrician delivered triplets.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A family of triplets were discharged on Wednesday from Mercy Hospital.
The children were born on Sept. 9 at 30 weeks and remained in the neonatal intensive care unit until their discharge as mom, Wendy Pacheco Enriquez went into early labor.
Geraldo weighed 3 lbs. 7 oz., Thiago was 3 lbs. 7 oz. and Axel checked in at 3 lbs. 14 oz.

The babies all weigh more than 5 pounds after 40 days in the NICU, the hospital said.
They were delivered by Dr. Francine Guzman, the hospital's director of clinical ob/gyn and were cared for by Dr. Swarna Devarajan, director of neonatology.

It's the fourth set of triples for Guzman and Devarajan in their 22 years working at Mercy. The hospital said triplet pregnancies happen 1 in 8,000 births.
