PSEG Long Island Delivers 30K To Long Island Cares For EV Charging

The charger will be installed at the Hauppauge headquarters.

UNIONDALE, NY — One area utility company is praising a charity's community to the environment.

PSEG Long Island presented a check to Long Island Cares that will be used toward installing an electric charger at its Hauppauge headquarters.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank received rebates totaling nearly $30,000 for a workplace electric charger with two ports.

"These measures will help support the environment and also save the organization money. Hopefully, it can also serve as a model for other organizations," Michael Voltz, PSEG Long Island director of Energy Efficiency and Renewables, said.

The charger will allow Long Island Cares employees to power their growing fleet of electric vans and trucks for free.

LI Cares said through PSEG Long Island's "generous support," they can transition some gas-powered vehicles to energy-efficient EVs.
