Psychiatric Patient Escaped Hospital: Rockville Centre Police

The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Aug. 12.
Harassment
- On Aug. 8 at 3:50 p.m., a Rockville Centre resident reported that her neighbor walked behind her and brushed up against her, causing alarm.

- On Aug. 11 at 11:26 a.m., staff from Mercy Medical Center reported that a man admitted for psychiatric evaluation had left the hospital. Rockville Center police officers located the man in the vicinity a short time later, and he was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center for treatment.
Auto Accident
- On Aug. 6 at 12:10 p.m., a motorist driving in the parking lot of the Recreation Center mounted the curb and struck bushes near the building. No injuries were reported.
- On Aug. 8 at 8:47 p.m., a potted tree fell onto a parked vehicle in front of 95 N. Park Ave. during a thunderstorm. No injuries were reported.

- On Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m., a Rockville Centre resident reported that someone stole property from her vehicle while it was parked in a driveway on Vincent Street.
Criminal Mischief
- On Aug. 7 at 10:51 p.m., a Shepherd Street resident reported his vehicle was damaged while it was parked in front of his home near N. Long Beach Road during the evening.
Fraud
- On Aug. 7 at 2:46 p.m., an employee of The Hispanic Brotherhood in Rockville Centre reported that three checks totaling over $1,000 were cashed without authorization.
Arrest
- On Aug. 7 at 6:37 a.m., Loucius Griffin Jr., 54, of Old Mill Court, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property after a search warrant was executed at his residence.
