The Rally For A Sane LIRR Commute
Todd Kaminsky is holding a rally Saturday to urge Amtrak to relinquish control of Penn Station to the MTA.

The Long Island Rail Road has been in the news a lot lately, and not for good reasons. The railroad keeps getting faced with delay after delay, causing anger among riders. Because of these seemingly unprecedented delays, Sen. Todd Kaminsky is calling on Amtrak to relinquish control of Penn Station, and is holding a Rally for a Sane Commute to further the cause.
The rally will be held on May 13 at 10 a.m. across from the Rockville Centre railroad station, in parking field 27, which is across from St. Agnes Cathedral.
"It is time for the MTA to take over the operational control of the station," Kaminsky said when he first called on Amtrak to relinquish the station last month. "Commuters deserve reliable public transportation, and Amtrak has proven that they cannot deliver."
