ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — While Sunrise Highway is fully operational after the fireball accident early Wednesday, cleanup is still taking part from the tanker collision.

The village of Rockville Centre said one lane heading eastbound between Ocean Avenue and North Village Avenue is still blocked off. In addition, one lane is closed on the eastbound side from Ocean Avenue to South Centre Avenue on Merrick Road. The village said drivers can expect that work to linger into Saturday.

The early morning tanker overturned and sparked fires on Sunrise Highway. No one, including the driver, was seriously injured.
