Bank Robbery Attempted In Rockville Centre, But No Money Taken: Cops

The man gave a note to the teller demanding cash at a Chase Bank, police say.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A man attempted to rob a bank in Rockville Centre on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The unknown man entered the Chase Bank at 10 North Village Avenue, just before 12:30 p.m. He demanded money from a teller with a note and threatened to use a weapon, although nothing was displayed, authorities said.

The teller walked away and the man fled without any money, police said.

Five employees and one customer were inside the bank at the time. No one was injured.
