ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Rockville Centre businessman Bob Jesberger is resuming his charitable ways.

The owner of Mid Island Collision is once again teaming the Salvation Army of Greater New York for Thanksgiving.

This year, Jesberger donated $65,700 that will provide more than 2,200 families holiday meals across Long Island and beyond.

Due to a turkey shortage, Jesberger said families will get chicken and the typical feast fixings. But, he said dessert is needed for thousands of people.

Jesberger is challenging Long Islanders to match, or beat, his $65,000 donation. Last year, the auto body owner donated $30,000 for a Salvation Army holiday toy drive.
